Urban Design
Urban design features are an important part of the corridor. We’ll be working on these elements in the coming months, and we want to hear from you today to help guide our efforts. This survey will be open until Friday, April 16 at 5 p.m.
What is urban design?
Urban design elements are things that will be included in the corridor design to help to make the roadway safe, accessible, functional, and match the character of the BelRed area. Urban design elements standards are guided by the BelRed Subarea plan. Examples of these elements can include:
- Sidewalks
- Directional signs
- Crosswalks
- Landscaping
- Overlooks
- Natural drainage features
- Benches and bike racks
- Art and wall finishes
Urban design opportunities on the corridor
Take a look at the map below to see where we’re thinking of incorporating some urban design elements (e.g. signage, retaining wall designs, landscaping) to make the corridor a safe and vibrant part of the BelRed neighborhood. Click the image to enlarge it.
