Great Neighborhoods - NE Bellevue

A Data Walk is an interactive way for you to learn about your neighborhood through the lens of facts and figures and reflect on what those numbers say about your community. The goals of the Data Walk are to:

• Develop a deeper understanding of the current state of the neighborhood area.
• Start to identify key strengths and challenges facing the neighborhood area.
• Uncover the stories about where we’ve been and where we are going. 

The Data Walk is divided into five sections - Neighborhood Overview, Community Connections, Access & Safety, Environment & Sustainability, and Diversity. We chose those topics based on what we heard from you about the values you care about. 

A Data Walk is like a museum exhibition where you get to see various video portraits of your neighborhood. Each portrait consists of a short video that shares data about housing, transportation, parks, safety, people, and more. As you watch the videos, feel free to pause the video if you want more time to look at the data. You can also download a copy of the full presentation from our Document Library. 

After watching the video, consider the following questions and write your responses below:

• What does this data say to you about the strengths and/or challenges facing your neighborhood?

We will use your reflections to help inform the list of strengths and challenges we want to address in the neighborhood plan. 

In this section of our Data Walk we look at data related to how easy and enjoyable it is to get around your neighborhood and how safe you feel. 

After watching the video, consider the following questions and write your responses below:

In this section of the Data Walk we look at data related to how you connect with your neighbors. Where are parks, shops, community centers, and other places for you to meet and gather with other people.

In this section we share data related to the people living in your neighborhood area, types of housing and the ability of people to live in the neighborhood throughout their life.

Take a moment to close your eyes and think about the future 10 years from now. Imagine what your neighborhood looks like. Imagine your life - how you work, go to school, connect with friends and neighbors, imagine the types activities you are engaged in. Imagine the kinds of new technology or innovation that have changed the way we live.

Now imagine that we are successful in realizing the key neighborhood values of Safety, Environment, Sustainability, Diversity, and Sense-of-Community.
